About Us
Nicole Gilhuley
Developing athletes through individualized coaching, progressive training, long-term athletic development, and a culture of excellence.
For the past seventeen years, I have been passionate about helping athletes reach their full potential. As Head Coach of the Ridge High School boys cross country, winter track, and spring track & field programs, I've built a coaching philosophy centered on long-term development, individualized training, and creating an environment where athletes continue improving throughout their high school careers.
I believe every athlete develops differently. Whether someone is trying to make varsity for the first time, earn a college scholarship, or compete at the national level, training should reflect their unique strengths, goals, and stage of development. My approach combines progressive training, strength and conditioning, technical instruction, and consistent communication to help athletes improve safely and confidently over time.
Over the course of my coaching career, athletes I've coached have earned:
- 47 team championships
- 119 Meet of Champions medals
- 45 current school records
- 15 All-American honors
- 6 New Jersey State Champion relay teams
- 5 National Champion relay teams
Beyond daily coaching, I design individualized training plans, develop year-round strength and conditioning programs, mentor athletes through the college recruiting process, and serve as meet director for Ridge-hosted invitationals and championship meets. My goal is not only to help athletes perform at their highest level, but also to teach the habits, discipline, and confidence that will continue to benefit them long after their competitive careers are over.
Whether you're just beginning your running journey or pursuing championship-level goals, my commitment remains the same: to provide thoughtful, individualized coaching that helps every athlete continue improving while enjoying the process.
My Coaching Philosophy

Success comes from consistent improvement over time through thoughtful training, strength development, and technical instruction.
